May Meeting

Meeting INFO: Saturday, May 11th at 7 pm – 118 Sullivan St. in downtown Punta Gorda

For our May 11th meeting, our speaker will be Dr. Robert Sinibaldi Ph.D.: Dr. Sinibaldi is a former past president of the Tampa Bay Fossil Club. In 2012, the Florida Paleontological Society presented him with the Howard Converse Award for his service to paleontology. He is also the author of the books: What Your Fossils Can Tell You: Vertebrate Morphology, Pathology, and Cultural Modification, Fossil Diving: In Florida’s Waters or Any Other Waters Containing Prehistoric Treasures and The Handbook of Paleontological Terms.
His program is entitled “Culturally Modified Vertebrate Fossils”. 
It is the final segment of the series of presentations that goes along with the book “What Your Fossils Can Tell You: Vertebrate Morphology, Pathology, and Cultural Modification.” The talk will cover how early Native Americans modified bones, antlers, and teeth, into tools, weapons, jewelry, and other objects.
