Our next SW Florida Fossil Society meeting is this Saturday, Sept. 7th at 7:00 pm at 118 Sullivan St. in downtown Punta Gorda.
Our speaker will be Louis Stieffel from the Fossil Club of Lee County. The presentation will consist of some general fossil information, some tips of fossil collecting, and fossil identification. He’ll bring several good books that would help with identifying our Florida fossils plus we also have a nice selection of books for sale.
He’ll try to explain ways to help in identification through actual fossil specimens and visual hands-on interaction.
Members are welcome to bring fossils in for him to try and identify.
